FITZWILLIAM COUNTRY PARK
A green space in the heart of the community
Once the site of Hemsworth Colliery and later Kinsley drift mine, Fitzwilliam Country Park sits in an area between the communities of Ackworth, Kinsley and Fitzwilliam. It was one of the first colliery sites to be recliamed in the Wakefield area. The park land is largely made up of grassland meadows with small woodland areas and has a small network of multi user trails.
